that time I was totally wrong & cashing in on the cringe

My husband and son dropped Anni and I off at the bus station this morning.

I held our little guy in my arms - breathing him in as he played the recorder and fellow passengers smiled at his tunes while we waited for the bus to arrive.

Which feels remarkable, in and of itself, since I have had this company line that I won't ride the bus after years and years of riding coach buses in college to soccer games and still being able to smell the bus bathroom cleaner mixed with the post-game subs just by thinking about it.

So the idea of me telling Ben that we were taking the bus so he could drive "mom's fun car" while we're away felt big.

As I sit on the plane writing to you, I am happy to report that I was completely wrong and that riding on the bus as a 40-something mom felt like a heavenly cloud that delivered me to the terminal with wifi and a bathroom.

And I will absolutely ride it again and again to avoid the Route 1 mayhem that is the drive to Logan.

I'm now sitting on an airplane nestled in next to a stranger man who has claimed the arm rest and 1/4 of my seat...and my daughter is asleep on the other side of me - 2 granola bars deep while a Dr. Seuss movie plays in her ears.

We are headed to our favorite spot on 30A - Grayton Beach, Florida for a few days to visit my best friend and join her on a very important trip. We're also going to  a birthday concert to see our favorite band - VIP tickets included!

It's a pretty dreamy girls' trip smack dab in the middle of September with all the hub bub of back to school, back to the schedules, back to the same old same old.

It's also a reminder that we don't have to keep doing or believing things just because they are the way it used to be - like riding cloud buses and taking girls' trips you'll remember forever in the middle of one of the most demanding months of the year - or creating things in our businesses that are ready for a refresh.

Last week, I taught a masterclass all about The Audacious Art of Reality Creation that you can watch right here that goes into the principles that found how I think about reality creation/manifestation - and the energy that informs how we experience our lives.

We also talked about the ways we accept what is, what we've been told/sold and what feels "realistic" over the experiences we really want - and how that just doesn't have to be the way anymore.

One of the things I say to myself and my kids regularly is "expect the best possible outcome."

If I catch myself awfulizing - a term near and dear to many New Englanders - I pause and say out loud - "Wait. What is the best possible outcome version of that story?"

This simple prompt then goes on to subsequently reboot my hard drive and focus me in a new direction...

It also does something that Pollyanna probably would forget to mention - it helps me accept the facts.

The facts, as in, the data points that reflect what I believe about my desired experience, the contradictions I didn't realize were there and the actual reps I I have put in (or not) in the spirit of achieving it.

This exercise helps level-set expectations and helps me take ownership of my part in the process. <<<Because - that part...

I recorded a podcast this week about level-setting, staying connected to our ambition and creating what's most aligned in the season we're actually in. It's a nuanced conversation, as always - and a bit of a pep talk for the parts of you that might be feeling "over it" - well, about just about everything these days.

You can listen to that right here

As always, I am your girl for keeping Truth Telling at the forefront and I am so committed it.

I am hosting a free masterclass next week (9/25) called TRUTH TELLER: Your Cringe to Cash Flow Content Era.

Consider this the catalyst to help you bring the real real back to your marketing/content creation and your everyday flow in your life and business.

I am exceptionally excited about this class and invite you to carve out a full 90 minutes for where we will be going in our time together.

We are navigating such interesting, challenging, abundant and wild times.

I believe, unequivocally, that we are here - you and me to do this very specific work we have been called to and now, more than ever, it is TIME to let our truth - no matter how challenging, controversial, edgy or honest -  to take the mic.

I will be teaching on this, on the ways to bring more truth to your messaging and your current business model as a whole.

This will be a cathartic and change-inducing masterclass! I can't wait to share it with you...
