what my near-death awakening showed me...
I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t move my right hand…
It was asleep - like me - and after a few minutes everything went back to normal.
But the moment & the thoughts that flickered through my mind as I inched my fingers back to life caused me to pause and feel into what wanted to open.
It whispered to me in the dark, "Everything can change in an instant...don't miss this."
Oh how fleeting + rare this being here thing really is.
I had a near-death awakening almost 10 years ago on the day my daughter was born…
I had a glimpse behind the veil and felt the depths that transcend words & worlds.
It changed me.
It brought forth a knowing that has become the thing I reach for when I lose my way.
I believe that heaven on earth is available to us in any moment we choose to align with it.
And inside the pangs of our pain, our grief, our longings - there is always an echo of love…
Inside our desp(air) there is a chance to breathe again…
Recently there have been a bunch of sudden and difficult losses in dear friends & colleagues’ worlds.
They are each their own version of startling experiences that don't make logical sense - beyond unexpected.
Yet...life, as we know it, never tracks a straight line does it?
Each of these experiences have been mirrors for me.
Mirrors of truth.
Sobering reminders that love is all that really matters when it’s said and done - that when we come together to celebrate a life - love is what we remember most.
