the thing that has never stopped working & what we're going all-in on this summer
My life got a serious upgrade recently...
We decided to makeover the biggest time suck of our home - the dreaded bookshelves/toy cabinet zone.
It was an endless battle of overflowing baskets and resistance to cleanup time, paired with my book obsession getting a little unruly - and it left us with an area in our house that looked and felt stressful and required constant tending.
I am an optimizer by nature and a poet at heart.
This means that I require as much time as possible for beauty and contemplation.
I deeply desire the space to BE and my home systems need to be simple so I can have that time/space.
This bookshelf/toy situation had become an energetic chokehold and it was not working.
We added doors to the bookshelves, sorted the toys and put them in clear plastic bins and stored away the toys that they weren't playing with.
I read about a study by the University of Toledo in 2017 that found toddlers with just 4 toys played with them twice as long and in much more sophisticated ways than those with 16 toys.
My own personal research would concur and the wild part is that this doesn't just apply toddlers!!
One of the greatest challenges I see when my clients come to me is decision fatigue from trying every strategy under the sun, spreading themselves thin on too many platforms and feeling the overwhelm that comes with endless choices about how to activate and achieve their specific goals in their business.
When we simplify the path forward, set concrete targets and build the model/strategy to achieve it - things get really clear.
And the results look like this:
I got a message from a client over the weekend letting me know that she was just one client away from the goal we set 6 months ago when we started 1:1 coaching together.
Seconds later, she shared that an intensive client had booked in and she *did* in fact reach the goal a few days ahead of schedule!
She hit her client roster goal and was excited to continue on for another 6 months of coaching together where we will up the ante on that goal and solidifying her systems to create even more flow and meaningful scale in her business.
This is the power and the magic of setting goals, allowing them to elevate us, taking concrete/aligned action and expanding our capacity for receiving/achieving them.
Adding coaching support is the accelerant that moves us through our own personal process and offers the accountability to our goals, themselves, unlike anything else.
