the strategy that outworks ALL strategies

My client sent me this message last week...

Q: Do you have moments of shame, fear and doubt lift up as you ascend to your next levels?

And I knew it was something we needed to talk about here, too.  

The short answer to this question?

Of course.

The more in-depth answer: 

The process of establishing new neural pathways as we grow and develop new understanding in our brains requires us to revisit old patterns.

And since our brains are literally wired in this way, avoiding these inevitable feelings is impossible, until we create a new pathway.

It's our relationship TO those feelings, though, that matters most of all.

Here's an example of what that work looks like in real time:

Version #1:

"I am struggling with self-worth and feel ashamed that my business isn't performing at the level I think it should be....

I wonder if that means maybe this isn't for me? Maybe I should change my title again or switch up my offer or hire another coach to tell me what to do?"

Version #2: 

"I am struggling with self-worth and feel ashamed that my business isn't performing at the level I think it should be.

Oh interesting, here comes that pattern again...I wonder what there is for me to learn and extract from this? I wonder what deeply held truths are ready to be revealed I haven't been able to see/perceive until now?

Maybe I should spend some time exploring what's coming up for me here so I can continue to evolve it? Maybe I should enlist some help with this process?"

Same scenario...big difference in the approach and the outcome.

And the truth is - we don't get to escape the way our brains work. 

Revisiting the same patterns is literally part of the package deal.

The best part, though? 

They can change.

It was sort of a trick question because I already knew what I was going to be rolling out...but this information made it even clearer.

The results to my poll looked like this:

C. Marketing - the runaway winner.

B. Offer - came in a close second.

D. All of the Above - was on par with Offer

A. Sales was in DEAD last - as in only a few folks clicked on it.  

And yet, every, single day - people come to me saying they need to figure out a way to get more clients. 

Read: people to pay them for their products/services.

I dug a little deeper in my IYB community asking them what comes up for them when they think about SALES and most of the responses were "gross," "it makes me feel like I'm trying to manipulate people," and so on.
