The mindset "cheat code" that will change everything
The last 2 weeks have been intense in this neck of the woods. We've been down for the count with sickness and sleepless nights with a newborn.
I'm not going to sugar coat it, it's been challenging.
But in true form, there have been lessons upon lessons revealing themselves and I've got a HOT one I am excited to share with you today.
Anni and I were watching a TikTok the other day which featured a man talking about the power of speaking kindly to ourselves.
It opened up a bigger conversation in our family that went something like this...
Me: Woah, I think that's the master cheat code for life.
Anni: Huh?
Me: Ben, think about it, can you imagine if at 8 years old, you ONLY knew to speak kindly to yourself because you learned that doing anything other than that was just a bad choice? Like ALL of those years we spent making ourselves wrong inside, just didn't happen....
Ben: Ya, that makes a lotta sense.
(Me blinking and processing at the speed of light integrating what this discovery really means)
Me: Anni. THIS. IS. THE. CHEAT. CODE. FOR. LIFE.
Anni: What's a cheat code?
Ben: It's like in a video game when you have a code you can put in at a certain spot that helps you win the game, they're usually pretty secretive and not many people know about them.
Anni: Ohhhhhh, ya, I know about that.
Me: So....are you guys getting this!? Every time we say something negative about ourselves or are extra hard on ourselves, we're just moving ourselves further from how we want to feel. ANDDDD on the flipside - The more KIND we are to ourselves, the more supportive and loving we are - no matter what....the better life feels.
(Me wanting them to be as excited about this as I visibly am at this point)
Anni: Oh ya, it's not very smart to say mean things about yourself.
Me: Riiiight?!!!!
(As my entire life flashes before my eyes)
As you can tell, this revelation - while not new - framed in this way is blowing my mind.
The sheer magnitude of impact this subtle, yet life-changing adjustment can have on the trajectory of how we exist is, quite literally, IT.
Can you even imagine what your life would have looked like having fully understood this when you were 8 years old or even younger?!
Universal law aside, just think about how it feels when you give yourself the benefit of the doubt or encourage yourself rather than the alternative.
How is there any other way?!
This may be a total *duh, Amber* moment for you, but I want to invite you to pause you for a moment and think about a place in your life or business where you have been feeling stuck.
>> What's the inner dialogue like about this topic?
>> What's the energetic you've got going on with it?
>> What are the actual words you speak to yourself on the regular when this topic comes up?
Anything that falls under the column of unsupportive (shaming, guilt, frustration, resentment, bitterness, doubtful, etc.) is an opportunity to flip the switch and try kindness instead.
The research is clear on what happens when we speak kindly to plants and children. Why would we think we are exempt from this in any way?!
Want to feel more successful so that you can actually ACHIEVE more success in your business?
Speak kindly to yourself - on the inside AND outside.
Want to feel more joy and ease?
Make kindness the ONLY option when it comes to the way you treat yourself.
At first this might be harder than it sounds because for most of us - we have a habit of hard.
We were programmed to believe that harder is better and toughness is a necessity.
Showing our cards, being the first one to soften, leading with kindness has been labeled as weakness in the past.
But that paradigm is cracking on its foundation.
What if I told you that being tender with yourself, being pliable, flexible, gentle, soft and supportive is the surest way to a healthier nervous system.
We attract what we are.
Want to bounce back more quickly from a disappointment?
Try softer with yourself.
Give yourself infinity chances.
Release the ultimatums.
You are your own greatest teammate and ally...it is time to treat yourself as such.
I promise you, it will change everything.
Breathe this one in and let me know where today's message landed for you.
Wishing you a gentle & grace-filled week ahead!
