Super-charge your goals with this simple swap...
I've been thinking a lot about goal setting and all of the hype we see out in the personal development + productivity space about it.
There have been studies that reveal that only 8% of people actually achieve their goals, while the other 92% who failed to write them down never see the fruits of their desires.
There are books on how to develop better habits and how to focus on the keys to success and beyond.
There is no shortage on advice out there about how to achieve greater progress in relationship to your goals.
Yet, it's still one of the things we human folk seem to struggle with the most.
It got me thinking about how when we commit ourselves to something that really matters to us it requires a great deal of energy to stay the course.
But what it if it wasn't about the physical efforting that comes with setting a new goals that slows our roll?
What if it was, instead, rooted in developing the mental fortitude required to override our resistance in the minute to minute livingness that comes with pursuing our wildest dreams.
Meaning...it's not that you can't climb the mountain, it's that you THINK you can't climb the mountain and overcoming those thoughts is the most challenging work of all.
So how do we address this?
Most of us climb the mountain in our minds before we even lace up our boots and while visualization has a potent capacity for helping us to get to our goals, the majority of people do it totally wrong.
How do I know this?
Because the weight loss industry is a $72 billion business lane and personal development industry is valued at almost $60 billion.
It's obvious that people are perpetually working at improving themselves.
AND
They are working really hard to overcome the resistance that is keeping them stuck while not making much progress.
Here's the truth:
Climbing the mountain is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other and moving until you get to the top.
Climbing the mountain of our minds in the process requires a different level of commitment and resilience.
What we need most of all is to embrace the reality that the object of our desires gets to be the EASY part when we make our inner game the point of our deepest focus and devotion.
When we live from this place of alignment, our goals are the beautiful bi-product.
Now it's your turn...
