She passed the baton...
The passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday has had my Instagram feed full of tribute posts to her memory and her legendary accomplishments.
Yet, there were 2 distinct narratives that were being repeated and expressed in many different ways and they looked something like this:
1. What the heck do we do now (laden with more profanity)? We are totally screwed.
2. Thank you RBG for fighting the fight we were not equipped to fight. We are ready now.
Neither one is wrong...rather a testament to her legacy and impact.
It has been a powerful moment in watching that narrative transform and witnessing way showers and world shifters recognizing the symbolism of this moment and time and the proverbial baton Justice Ginsburg has now, officially, passed along to *us* here in the physical.
There is no doubt that RBG's legacy is one that will live on in us and our children.
And as I reflect on the significance of her work in the world and her commitment to pushing the envelope for real change, I see it as an urgent reminder that we must keep the ball moving - in whatever way feels resonant for each of us.
Here's what I know for certain: Your purpose is not a mistake.
The thing you can't stop thinking about, the causes and the missions that make you feel FIRED UP are your divine assignment.
And the time to get in motion on your mission, my dear Kristen, is now.
The more we live in and ON our purpose, the more we elevate one another and the collective consciousness of humanity.
