risking the deep + front row seats

We took Anni to see CATS last night and it was absolutely incredible.

The tiny theater was cozy and intimate and we were so close I could see into each performer's soul.

The actors were just a few feet from us and as the show crescendoed I felt a connection with every, single person in the room - Isn't that just the way life-changing experiences seem to knit us together?

This is what witnessing people fully immersed in their gifts does for us.

And getting to witness the threshold of surrender we must cross over in order to become one with our art is a holy thing.

Getting to watch the parts of us that are afraid someone might see our sweat stains or the tears streaking our makeup must give way to the deeper ask is awe-inspiring.

It's a sacred point of no return that unifies and reveals.

In order for an actor to achieve a truly touching performance, they must *quite literally* give themselves over fully to the character to let the truest, most meaningful expression come through.

It's like they lose themselves in the character, yet bring the most honest and authentic parts forward to tell the story.

And, as you know, the same goes for our businesses.

When we stay at the surface - our connection with our communities and clients remains transactional.

The extra hard part about this is - those who spend their whole lives at the surface are usually doing so for a very good reason:

They have unlimited access to the air we breathe!!

It's certainly justifiable to stay up there...

As it can be to justify becoming gripped with stress about our numbers, about our results, about what's working and what's not.

But here's what I will tell you...

Staying at the surface only works for those who momentarily forget that they were BORN with the innate ability to swim into the deep.

And it's those who allow their curiosity and will to lead them into the depths that eventually unlock their own limitless potential.

In their journey into the deep, they discover the true meaning of why they devoted their life to their work in the first place.

Transformation is like that, after all.

If you are reading this, there is no question you are deeply devoted to transformation - within yourself & in your work in the world.

And yet, over and over again, I see the mismatch of teachers, mentors and visionaries who are stuck at the surface when it comes to taking that next step toward true growth in their businesses.

The short answer?

Get in the water, love.

Grab your snorkel and fins if you need them and go deep.

Centering, amplifying and going BIG on transformation work is the only option.

Here are 4 questions to walk with as we get ready to wrap this year up with a bow:

1. Am I will to cross the threshold - to break the 4th wall with the people I am ready/able to help?

2. What is holding me back from risking the deep?

3. What would it look like to leave the surface to find what is waiting for me?

4. What sort of help, support, guidance do I need to make this journey, if any?

You're going to want to give yourself space to play with these metaphors

Here's to centering transformation in all facets of your being, your business and beyond.
