give your brain a break - build your Creative OS

In session yesterday, one of my clients said something I think we can all relate to...

She said, "My brain just isn't working like it used to." 

And while there was a deeply personal sentiment in her words, it got me thinking about my own brain - and how it feels like in this last year things have "broken open" in a way.

What was once up is now down.

What once made sense is now confusing. 

What once worked doesn't and what once was "unscalable" is the new gold mine.

I don't think this is an inherently bad or negative thing - but I do believe that it warrants a deeper examination of our lives, what matters to us and how we live as a result of this inquiry.

As business owners, it is more essential than ever that our systems and structures - the very platforms that support our marketing efforts, messaging and offers - are congruent and coordinated with who we are and what feels truly generative.

I wrote to my own coach just this morning that my personal Creative Operating System has never been more essential as my ideas are all over the place and my resistance to batch creating or creating for the sake of creating has never been more inflamed. 

What a strange thing to say - but it's truly how I am wired.

I get the spirit of a message and it wants to be created in the way it wants to be created - in the moment it wants to be born.

It's like a wild horse that cannot be tamed, yet longs to be ride - unbridled and free.

I have a deep resentment for being forced into anything - even when it's ME who is the one tapping her foot... (hi, September Virgo & Taurus Rising here).

And so I have learned how to bareback ride my own creative spirit.

To let her be wild and free - and yet, still generative, nourishing and supportive to the business I am growing here.

So what's working?

Building my own Creative Operating System. 

It's the weekly flow I use to run my entire marketing engine in the margins of my life (podcast recorded on walks, emails written from the kitchen counter, IG Reels recorded in nature, all of it)

This method is what supports the backend of my business - while maintaining a full client roster and keeps the pathways open for new clients.
