Feeling Triggered? Try this.
I had an experience recently that ruffled my feathers.
I won't get into the specifics, but every part of my inner warrior was activated.
I could feel my inner thermostat rising and the stories starting to pile up.
As I walked around grappling with what was coming up, I heard the words - "What are you making this mean?" pop up into my awareness.
It reminded me of the prompt Brené Brown introduced, "The story I am telling myself is..."
(What a helpful and illuminating invitation, B! Thank you, sister!!)
With these invitations, I was able to open up the ACTUAL story I was telling myself about what this situation meant.
And what I discovered there wasn't super warm and fuzzy.
The story that lived inside felt like throwing a log on the fire of the on-going narrative my inner critic was persistently writing about myself.
Short for - I was burying myself.
Until I wasn't, because I have learned how to move through moments like these with grace and ease.
New story. New life.
The best part about the deep work and committing to liberating ourselves from these old patterns of pain and suffering is that when things like this happen, they become just that - invitations to explore the stories we've been writing.
And when we learn how to do this, we become unshakeable.
The reality is, our lives ARE the stories we're telling ourselves in realtime.
When learn how to crack the code on our old patterns and ways of looking at these aspects of our stories, we get to revise them.
If you want to live a different life, tell a different story.
If you want to experience your business differently, write a new story.
If you want to change the way you experience money, live a new story.
All of this takes practice.
Communing with others who can see the cracks in our stories and lovingly reflect them back to us is a game changer.
Sending you love today and always.
Make it a great day.
