Can we talk about money?? 💸

One of my big dreams when we moved into our little cottage on the pond was to build an addition that made space for more living and also for my business to grow through hosting in-person retreats and VIP Days.

At the end of 2017, we put in a call to our mortgage company and asked them if it would be possible to get a loan for the expansion project. 

After sending in the materials, we got on the phone with our mortgage guy and I could tell the news wasn't going to be good.

He told us that even though we were qualified to borrow the funds, the banks wouldn't lend for what we were trying to build because, and I quote,

"There is nothing like this that exists out there." 

That was code for "comps" in the real estate world.

And what he was telling us was that were no homes that fit the profile of what we were trying to build closer than the ocean, which was 20 miles from our house, and as far as the banks were concerned, we were out of luck.

After we hung up the phone, I cried in frustration feeling further away than ever from this dream I couldn't shake from my mind.

I sat in my tiny 22 sq ft. office and breathed into this feeling.

And then it dawned on me...

He was right.

We weren't building anything that anyone had ever seen before. 

We weren't concerned with being comprable. 

We were building our dream.

And the reality was, our dream didn't look like anyone else's.

So in an instant, I flipped the script and leaned in to what I knew how to do.

I got to work and put my head down.

I built a program that my community needed and, ultimately, generated the cash to double the size of our home over the next year.

It was like being given a high five from the Universe that said, "You can do this."

I stepped up to the challenge because it was a necessity.

No part of it was easy, especially when it came to stepping up to the biggest limiting belief of all...

The one about money.

Every one of my stories came up about how impossible it would be to earn this income, heck even 1/10th of what we had no idea we were going to need!

But we did it...

And that experience solidified something for me that I've been helping my clients lean into ever since:

We MUST learn how to create abundance and money to support ourselves and our families. 

Creating a method for consistent income and learning how to create $1K Days++ in our businesses changes things in a big way.

We recently decided to refinance the half of the house that still has a mortgage on it and as we were wrapping up with the appraiser, he said, "It's going to take me a few days to get this done because there's really nothing comprable around here for what you've created."

It hit me like a lightning bolt and the memory brought me back to that little office

Through tears of frustration and the fire of my vision, I made a pact with myself that I would build my dream no matter what.

And there we were...standing outside looking up at it.

I can promise you that it always feels impossible, until it doesn't and suddenly it's your reality.
